Artist Statement

Melissa Terrezza is a multimedia artist with an interest that ranges from printmaking on ceramics to large scale painted murals. Through the use of symbols, pattern, and design her work lends itself to a very personal intellectual and philosophical approach. Key components for her when creating is letting go of judgment, trusting the process and allowing ideas to flow at ease. Conceptually, she strives to encourage multiple truths and realities while pushing the envelope with societal stressors such as greed, politics, and the environment. During her time living on the west coast, she gravitated towards Ayurvedic studies and continues to combine these ancient wisdoms along with her Native American roots within her art.
