Sitting together in a sacred circle you will have the opportunity to create your very own hand drum. Workshops begin with introductions and decorating the inside of your circular frame with words of inspiration or images of your choice. We then move into a drum journey/meditiation encouraging you to set an intention for the purpose of your drum. When lacing the drum we finish the back handle in a way that honors the mind, body and spirit.
Email me to sign up for the next workshop OR schedule a private session. Group workshops are fairly small (4-10 people). If more then 10 people are present then a second person may be hired to assist the class. Gift certificates are also available.
This workshop lasts approximately 3 hours. Hides available are Elk, Deer, Buffalo, Horse, and on occasion Moose. You will choose the size of your wooden frame: 14”, 15”, 16”, 18” , 20”. (choosing the 20” is $25 extra)
The cost is $275-$300 per person. This price includes all materials, the teaching, a guided drum meditation, and any additional time spent preparing for the workshop. Drum making materials are costly and lumber has also increased in price. Extra costs per person may be added for groups larger then 10 and travel expenses if outside the Asheville area.
*Keep in mind that after making your drum it is good to wait 4-7 days so it is fully dry before playing.
